A Detective’s Approach to Healing
This blog post is adapted from a video interview, which you can watch here.
It’s a question we hear all the time: “What actually happens in a healing session?” For many, the world of energy healing and trauma release can feel mysterious, even intimidating. You may be wondering if it will work for you, how quickly you’ll see results, and what to expect from the process.
In a recent conversation, I sat down to answer some of the most common questions we receive at Go Pain to Power. My goal is to demystify the experience and give you a clear, honest look at what our healing process looks like from the inside. If you’ve ever been curious about taking the next step on your healing journey, this is for you.
A Detective’s Approach to Healing
My journey to this work was unconventional. With over a decade of experience as a police detective, I learned to be methodical, analytical, and deeply investigative. I bring that same approach to every healing session.
When we first meet, whether in person or remotely, I start by asking a series of questions. This isn’t just small talk; it’s a way for me to create a “heat map” of your life experiences. I’m looking to understand the traumas, both physical and emotional, that your body has stored. This map allows me to identify the triggers and stimuli that I can use to communicate directly with your brain and nervous system.
This investigative process is the foundation of our work. It allows us to move beyond guesswork and create a targeted, effective path to healing.
How Quickly Can You Expect Results?
This is often the most pressing question people have, and the answer is encouraging. While every person’s experience is unique, 95% of the people who work with us see results almost immediately.
For physical pain, many feel substantial relief in the moment. For emotional work, a feeling of lightness often emerges within the first five to ten minutes of a session. Many clients report having the deepest, most calming sleep they’ve had in years on the very first night after a session.
How is this possible? We are working with the body’s communication pathways, which operate at the speed of light. By tapping into these energetic systems, we can create shifts that are both profound and incredibly fast.
Remote vs. In-Person Sessions: What’s the Difference?
Many people are curious about how a remote healing session can be as effective as an in-person one. It’s a great question, and it gets to the heart of how this work is possible.
Remote sessions operate on the principle that we are all connected through an energy field—a kind of “wifi network” that spans the globe. As a practitioner, I have learned to tap into this network and send healing impulses directly to your subtle body, no matter where you are in the world. For this to be most effective, it helps to have a belief or openness to the idea that everything is energy.
In-person sessions, on the other hand, are often easier for those who are a bit more skeptical. When we work together in person, we are engaging on a physical level that bypasses the need for belief. The brain responds to the physical stimuli, and the results follow, no matter what you believe.
Both methods are equally powerful, but they work on different levels—one metaphysical, the other physical. The right choice for you simply depends on your comfort level and what you’re open to experiencing.
The “Onion Layers” of Trauma: How Long Do the Effects Last?
This is another important question. Is one session enough, or will you need to keep coming back?
For many people, one session is all it takes. The issue is resolved, and it never comes back. However, sometimes the pain or emotional pattern returns after a period of time. This is not a failure; it’s actually great news.
I like to explain it using the analogy of an onion. Our bodies store trauma in layers. In a healing session, we peel back several of these layers, dissolving the dysfunction and pain. If the issue returns, it simply means we’ve cleared the outer layers and now have access to an even deeper layer of trauma. It’s an opportunity to get closer to the root cause.
For those with extensive trauma or chronic illness, the healing process may be more of a journey, requiring several sessions. However, I can guarantee you that every client has felt an improvement after each and every one. This is in stark contrast to conventional approaches, where people can spend years and vast resources without seeing any real change.
